Know the Lore

This page is still under construction as I write and test things... :) But here is a soft launch!

You do not need to memorise everything! My world operates a little bit on dream logic, although I try to make it believable. Most of my inspiration is born from dreams! I do not consider my project to be spec evo, as it is just a stage for my world. This has been something I have been creating since I was a child, and I have been doing it since before anything like spec evo or worldbuilding became mainstream and widespread.

This is all set up for my webcomic.

Places

Tevgil Tevgil The rainforest spanning the cape

Tevgil is the enormous rainforest that spans much of the Cape. Its trees are ancient and massive, rising like cathedrals. The forest’s outer edges still receive sunlight, but farther within, entire regions are swallowed by darkness and completely obscured beneath the canopy.

Long ago, a “well” of energy breached the surface, sending ley lines throughout Tevgil. The plants grew toward them instinctively, drawn to their power more intimately than they had ever been drawn to sunlight.

As the forest thickened, its trees rose high enough to blot out the sun entirely. Rather than wither, the plants defied it. Sustained and vitalised by the ley energy beneath them, they continued to grow in total darkness.

Because of this, much of Tevgil is not green. Its flora appears in deep reds, purples, blues, and magentas, their colours shaped by the energy running through the forest.

Ashphodels Ashphodels A forested region shaped by harsh cycles of fiery destruction and rebirth, inhabited by creatures hardy enough to endure them

Ashphodels lies farther northeast of Tevgil, beyond the salt flats. Wildfire passes through the region with the regularity of a season. Much of its wildlife has adapted to these cycles, undergoing temporary transformations that shield their bodies from the searing heat...much like growing a winter coat.
